I have been waiting to have a huge chunk of time to write the stories I want to write.
I have so much to tell, so much to say… as always
However, I also have 3 children home for the summer. Telling myself I will have time to write without interruption is as crazy as telling myself we will purchase a condo on the upper west side in NYC before the real estate market turns around.
So for now, I am going to try something new and attempt to blog a little on a regular basis. I will have to save my big stories for the day I write my novel… However, I am starting to realize my close family members are not going to be very happy with me if I ever do write everything I would like to write. On the other hand, the more I learn about people, the less shocking my own disfunctional family appears to be.
I still hope to share my thoughts as openly as I have in the past.
For instance, here is an opinion I would like to share.
For the last few days as the nation and the world reacts to the news of Michael Jackson’s death, I have been confused. Of course, it is sad when someone dies – especially when that person has children who will be left parentless. However, have we forgotten so quickly what MJ did to those – oops, “allegedly did” to those innocent little boys. Even if the molestation has never been proven, are we really a nation who is okay with a grown man sleeping in the same bed with young boys? If so, if the masses in this country are really okay with this, I have even more confidence in my slightly neurotic over-protective parenting style.
I actually really feel sorry for the legacy of Farrah Fawcett. She was so completely overshadowed by Michael Jackson’s death. It would have been nice to have at least a couple of media filled days of her story. I would rather see the face of a woman who courageously battled cancer splashed all over the headlines than the face of an accused child molester – no matter how talented he was.
One person who I would assume is not unhappy with the media blitz of the gloved one’s death has to be Governor Mark Sanford. He really got very lucky. I still think he is an idiot and I am constantly disgusted at this familiar story. However, we all know he is not the first man to destroy his life because he is intoxicated by the excitement of a new lust object in his life. And certainly, as history continues to prove, he will not be the last.
While I don’t want to believe anyone would be thankful for another human being’s death, my guess is that Governor Sanford and his family may consider the timing of MJ’s passing to be quite fortuitous.
Enough about the real news. If you want real news, you have many cable stations and a whole darn internet to find out about that. Let’s get back to my plan…
I miss writing. I miss the feedback and truthfully, I am amazed at what passes as interesting in the blog-world. I have been a bit turned off with Facebook and I am still only casually dating Twitter. My social networking priority is currently to work on my relationship with the blogosphere.
Hopefully, my new blogging regimen will feel a bit like spending time with me. Sometimes it will be interesting and funny. Sometimes it may be serious and thought provoking. And other times, though hopefully not too often, you may want it to just STOP TALKING!
Ironically, in the less than 30 minutes I have been writing this, I have only been visited by my kids three times and surprisingly, there has been no screaming.
Talk to you tomorrow….
Have a great night.

I think it is fitting to mourn the loss of the person who changed music and dance so phenomally. I think Michael Jackson was a very flawed and confused person… read somewhere that he was the most frivously sued person in the US. I have no idea if he was guilty of the crimes he was accused of, but we do live in a country where we are considered innocent until proven guilty. So – I prefer to remember his music and dance.

I agree with you in regards to farrah. It is so sad that her death has just been pushed aside! Not that one death is more important, it just seems that MJ has superseeded her, so sad all around. Now Billy Mays is gone too what is going on!!!!!!!
